YouTube subscribers in the MacBook notch
Subscribers is the channel total, and YouTube deliberately rounds it above a certain size.
Why the figure does not move for a while
YouTube abbreviates public subscriber counts, and the Analytics total for larger channels is rounded too. Above a hundred thousand the number steps in increments rather than counting by one, so a channel gaining a few hundred subscribers a day can show the same figure for several days and then jump.
That rounding is why the widget shows the total without a sparkline. A sparkline built from a rounded series draws steps and reads as though growth stopped and restarted.
The total, not the change
This is the current count, not subscribers gained. For the change over a window, use the new subscribers widget, which reports gross gains. Neither one is net: YouTube reports gains and losses separately, and a channel can add two thousand subscribers and lose five hundred in the same week.
What YouTube subscribers means, exactly
Subscribers on the channel right now, as the YouTube Data API reports it, which rounds anything over a thousand to three figures, so 12,345 reads as 12,300. The change against the previous window is the exact net gain from Analytics, so the arrow is right even where the total is rounded.
A whole number.

Questions

- Subscribers on the channel right now, as the YouTube Data API reports it, which rounds anything over a thousand to three figures, so 12,345 reads as 12,300. The change against the previous window is the exact net gain from Analytics, so the arrow is right even where the total is rounded. Notch Metrics reports that number, unchanged, in the MacBook notch.
